Transcript of aforementioned petition, that "nothing but the fearful approach of the inclement winter, and the miseries attendant thereon, to a race of human beings whose honesty…has rendered them proverbial for refraining from the use of any man's ox, calf, sheep or lamb &c." and asking for blankets, partly worn clothes, etc.
