1264. Nathaniel W. White to his brother Cornelius, chiefly relative to his appointment succeeding "Lord Hezekiah" as Register in the Chancery Court. "My Mastership I still retain, which has been a very good thing to me. The Registrarship is said to be worth five or six hundred a year; but nobody knows exactly, for old Coggy [H. H. Cogswell] is as close-tongued as he is close-fisted."  Holograph.

1268. Deane White to his brother Cornelius. He describes a storm which happened that morning, "which has done more damage in this Harbour. The Indus, then lying at the end of G. & Co. wharfe, broke all her chains fast in an instant, and was driven on shore, on the East side of the Harbour near the Mouth of the Bason, where she now lies high & dry, with part of a Cargo in for the West Indies...The Sir Peregrine is also much damaged about her Stern & Bulwarks stantions &c - Many other vessels are equally Injured but the Nancy, Strachans Brig. More than any. The Slaits on the South Side of the Wings of Dalhousie College are strewn all over the Block to the Northd - Many Houses in Dutch Town are leveled &c. Holograph.
