1321. Deane White to his brother Cornelius,  on business and family matters. "A few days before Haddey arrd there was a large quantity of Coal sold at Auction for 25/ - from the Brig Ann from Hull, and is very fine had there been any vessel in from Shelburne I certainly would have sent at least 15 Chaldns. I think by watching the Market here, they can be procured Cheaper than in any other Way as it is common, in the early part of the summer, for it to be sold as low as it is laid in at it (sic) Sydney." Holograph.

1325. A. M. Campbell, Sec'y to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, to the Bishop of Nova Scotia. [Printed circular]. The government having reduced its allowance to the Society, the salaries of missionaries have been cut according to a scale, which he gives. Signed.

"This demand for Sugar, has quite changed the old method of our Merchants in that trade - for there has Sailed a number of vessels for the W. I. with large sums of Cash for that Article." Holograph.

1329. Deane White to his brother Cornelius, in receipt of letter. He has paid for Cornelius' commissions as collector and Major Commandant. He has tried to send a load of coal to Shelburne but cannot persuade any collier to take a whole load; he has therefore put 8 chaldrons of Lingan coal on board the packet. He sends other articles, which he lists with prices. "Are you now tired of Appointments for the president is About Making you a Master in Chancery - which will give you poundage &c." Holograph.

1330. Fiddes & Robertson to Thos. Crowell, in receipt of letter. Business details. "Mr. Smith the agent of the Sydney & Pictou Mining Association, Bought all of St. Peter's Property (except Laurences Lot & House which is now our own) and all the Land &c. Black Forsyth & Co held a Mortgage upon - he paid us £1000, for our debt & Mortgage on St. Peters, Black Forsyth & Co £2700 Curry. We would advise you to endeavour to Strike a Bargain with him for your land - Tho: we have not the least doubt that by & by it would sell to advantage - that is provided they cut a Canal or make a Rail Road through St. Peters -" They paid £300 to charter a vessel to sail to the West Indies and back. Holograph.

1333. Bishop of Nova Scotia (John Inglis) to [Rev. T. H. White], giving directions with regard to a circular letter from the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel.  He is to take steps to secure a regular contribution of £50 a year and a suitable house from his congregation. Autograph.
