Message from the Lt.-Governor to the Assembly, "His Majestys Commission & Instructions remain in the Custody of the Governor for his guidance and direction, and cannot be communicated to the Assembly as a matter of right. I have already directed Copies of such part of the Instructions as respect your Legislative duties to be communicated to you, and until it appears to me that His Majestys Service requires it I can make no further Communication." Report of committee appointed to wait upon the Lt.-Governor re the Royal Instructions; the Governor "informed the committee that His Majesty’s Commission of His Governor General was lodged in the Office of the Secretary of the Province and that any Gentlemen belonging to the House who wished to examine it, might do so by calling at that office, which information was communicated to the House by the Committee at the time the written Answer was delivered Although it does not appear upon the Journals."

Ten resolutions of the House granting money for various provincial services, including a resolution for granting £3. 10. 0 for each deserter from the army or navy "who shall be apprehended and secured between the first day of February and the thirty first day of December next to be paid to the person or persons by whom any such Deserter shall be apprehended and secured"…sum not to exceed £300.

Report of the committee who attended the Lieut.-Governor on the subject of making the Briar Island lighthouse of wood instead of stone. "His Excellency was pleased to say that he preferred stone for all Public builds but in consideration of the Present State of the Province and as he was desirous to meet the wishes of the House of Assembly, he would relinquish the Plan for a stone building and would take the proper Steps for Erecting a LightHouse of Wood on the said Island." New Brunswick was not to have any control over the lighthouse. (Draft)
