Lunenburg by the Sea

6 Archibald Street

Another exhilarating example of the 'Lunenburg House', this one designed for J. Moyle Rudolf in 1889. Mr. Rudolf, in his diary, informs us that his house is 34 feet by 40 feet, 21 feet in the post, 2½ storeys high. The cellar was excavated and built by Edward Faulkenham. C. Albert Smith was the carpenter, Alex Daniels the plasterer and chimney mason, and Richard Hurley the painter. Unfortunately, Mr. Rudolf makes no mention of architect, builder or contractor. Perhaps we can assume it was C. Albert Smith.

Date: ca. 1900
