Petition of John Parker and other inhabitants of Hants County, asking for a bounty for raising grain on new land, and detailing special circumstances which prevented their claim from being considered. Enclosed are vouchers, certificates etc. to the truth of the claim.

Letter from Hugh Macdonell to Edward Mortimer, enclosing a petition from the inhabitants on the Gulf shore, which he hopes will receive the attention of the House so that a commissioner can be immediately appointed and the logs hauled during the winter.

Memorial of William Canady, stating that his son Denison became deranged while undergoing treatment during militia duty in Halifax, and has remained so, and asking for some allowance from the legislature, considering that he was the sole support of his parents. Certificate of the Field Officer of Denison Canady’s regiment to the truth of the petition.

Petition of James Leaver, asking for the drawback on rum imported into Halifax and exported to Cape Breton, for the exportation of which he was unable to obtain regular certificates, due to the port into which the rum was carried not having a Customs establishment. Enclosed are certificates, vouchers, recommendations etc.

Petition of Samuel Marshall, asking the legislature to indemnify him for the loss sustained through not being able to sell the salt he imported into the province when the legislature placed a bounty on it. Affidavit to the truth of the statements in the petition.

Two resolutions in favour of appointing "a Special agent to communicate with His Majesty’s Ministers respecting the trade and fisheries of this Province conformable to the prayer of the Petition of William Sabatier and others" and that Nathaniel Atcheson be the man.

22 November 1809

Memorial of Adolphus Vieth, Clerk to the Adjutant-General of Militia. He was first appointed to his office in 1797, after which he gave his account for services annually, "until some Years ago when the late Secretary (Mr. Wentworth) thought it unnecessary to receive Your Memorialists annual Account, after which he discontinued submitting it, but continued to receive payment annually for his services up to the 27th June 1807. That agreeable to the Vote of the Honble. House at their last Session, wherein they grant the Adjutant General a certain sum of Money for defraying the expenses of this Office, this Gentleman will not be authorized to pay him for any past services, but only for those of the ensuing Year commencing in December 1808, by which Your Memorialist will loose the payment for 18 Months labour vizt. from 27th June to 26 December 1808, during which period the business of the Office was so pressing as to oblige him to hire assistance." Asking relief.
