The Gossips - Reel

Note: The second reel of a test print of the English sub-titled version of Phil COMEAU's comedy/drama 'Les Gossipeuses' ('The Gossips'). The film, shot in 1977 and 1978, focuses on a trio of gossips in a small village in the Baie Ste-Marie region of Nova Scotia as they watch the apparently nefarious activities of the parish's new young priest and a young, unmarried couple with increasing alarm. In reponse to the film's popularity, the National Film Board released this English sub-titled version in 1981.
