Beginning with Henry FORD and culminating in the 1950s (the height of cheap fuel and large cars) the film then turns to look at the impact of OPEC and fuel shotages. Fuel efficiency is stressed and various strategies (such as smaller cars, regular tune-ups and slower speed limits) are discussed.

Cabinet Minister Roland Thornhill over his financial dealings, although the R.C.M.P. felt that their was evidence to do so. Henshaw interviews senior politicians, including Premier John BUCHANAN, and civil servants.
