Copy. Report on lighthouses on coast. That at Halifax is in bad repair and needs an auxiliary small lighthouse to make it effective. The proposed lighthouse on Cranberry Island will be of great benefit to Atlantic trade. Lighthouse being built at Liverpool will be of little use, and the scheme of lighting it should be confined to the use of Liverpool. Shelburne lighthouse is very useful and in good condition. Brier Island lighthouse had better be discontinued unless it is improved. General remarks. (Enclosed in No. 41)
