Mr. Tonge's resolution respecting Lunenburg voters that five men be brought before the House to answer charges of "using Violence on the person of and threats against George Adam Eisenhauer and others to prevent them from giving their votes according to their Conscience at the late Election for the County of Lunenburg." Draft of resolutions of the House, moved by Mr. Archibald, on the duties of the Speaker. 1st, that attendance on the House is his first duty, and 2nd, "That this House considers a Summons to the Speaker to attend another duty at a time appointed for its setting and with so short notice as not to allow opportunity of communicating with the House to be highly disrespectful to the branch of the Legislature – and that if such a case should recur, the Speaker will be bound not to attend such Summons until he has the direction of the House to that effect."
