Mr. Morton's appointment to be deputy collector meets with their complete approval. They conclude: "Your knowledge of the world will point out to you, to what lengths weak and ambitious minds are led by party spirit - to this unhappy cause may be attributed the want of a good Society, and almost every social virtue in Digby - We trust that time and Mr. M's conduct will convince those who are unbiasd that he is, as we believe him to be, undeserving those imputations, and an injur'd man - ". Holograph.
