"Loss of the Steamship Hungarian, off Sable Island, Nova Scotia, February 1860"

Published in Harper's Weekly, 3 March 1860. Hungarian left Liverpool, England on 8 February, bound for Portland, Maine; the account reported that the steamship had been wrecked on "Sable Island, Nova Scotia," but also noted that the Hungarian had been driven ashore on the west side of "Cape Sable" (southern tip of Nova Scotia mainland) All passengers and crew were reported to be lost, although portions of the mail and cargo were still being picked up.
