'An East Coast Port': Halifax in Wartime, 1939-1945

Capital Building on Barrington Street decorated for the Royal Visit

Taken the day of the visit of the Royal Visit.The day before the Royal Visit, the newspaper Halifax Daily Star, 14 June 1939, p. 1, included three photographs of Barrington and Granville streets with headlines "Halifax Puts on Party Dress to Welcome King and Queen." Decorations included lots of flags and bunting similar to the photograph shown here.
