Young Avenue residents are listed on p. 650. Built heritage researchers see many changes when surveying many city directories. For example, J.C. Dumeresq designed a house for George Wright at the corner of Young Avenue and Inglis Street in 1902. Wright made his fortune publishing Wright World Directory but drowned when the S.S. Titanic sank in April, 1912. He bequeathed his house and property on Young Avenue to the Halifax Local Council of Women. House construction/occupancy (1903-04), change of owner (1912) and civic address change (1961-1962) are reflected in city directories: 1903-04 -163 Young Avenue - vacant house; 1904-05 - 163 Young Avenue -Wright, George; 1911 - 163 Young Avenue - Wright, George; 1912 - 163 Young Avenue - Halifax Local Council of Women; 1961 - 163 Young Avenue - Halifax Local Council of Women; 1962 - 989 Young Avenue - Halifax Local Council of Women.
