Petition of John H. Flieger, Weigher and Guager for "the collection of Impost and Excise Duties on the importation of Wines, Spirituous Liquors Molasses Sugar and Coffee into the Port of Halifax," stating that although the salaries of the other officers of the revenue have "since a general Reduction thereof took place, been gradually increase to what they at present enjoy" his own has remained £80 a year. He has been Weigher and Guager for sixteen years. "That having a large Family, and the allowance at present made to your Petition being inadequate to their support, and also feeling his Health to decline He Humbly hopes for a favourable Consideration of the Premises, and that such compensation may be made to him as the Importance of his services, in your wisdom shall seem to merit."
