Fort Sackville

Piers note: No. 202. Sackville, Fort; Barracks and Lookout Station; Bedford, Nova Scotia: Sackville Barracks, the old quarters of the former Fort; showing western front with veranda, of wood, 1½ storey high, three doors; about 1878. Looking Northeast from what had once been the parade ground of the fort. Fort Sackville first established 17(?). The barracks probably dates from about 1798. In later years it was occupied by a lookout party for deserters. It was destroyed by fire some years ago.
