Piers note: No. 283A. Ives Point Battery: Exterior, showing section of Stockade or Palisade at the gorge on northeastern side, which had been blown down by a Southwest gale. In distance are 3 guns of battery on west front, the middle gun being the 4th one from the northern end of west front. Compare with No. 283. Looking West-southwest from outside, near the gate in Northeast section of stockade.
