Piers note: No. 25. Northwest Arm Battery: General View from the rear; showing 4 Smooth-bore Guns mounted on wooden garrison carriages on traversing platforms, en barbette, and 3 on iron garrison carriages. About 3 small buildings within the battery, and one marked "R.A. store No. 1" just outside the gate, and a sentry-box alongside. Picket fence at the gorge. 6 bearded artillery men in battery. Taken 1870. Looking South-southwest towards Purcell's Cove, from road leading up to Cambridge Battery.
