Letter from Andrew Henderson of Albion Vale to Joseph Howe regarding travelling to General's Bridge, a site of an annual summer encampment of Mi'kmaq. Also regarding potato distribution, numbers and locations of Mi'kmaq throughout Annapolis County and whether Jack or Charles Glode is the true chief of the Mi'kmaq in the area.

Honourable Sir
Your polite favour of the 6th inst. did not reach me untill [until] last monday, at which time, in compliance with your request I repaired to the General's Bridge, the Summer rendezvous of a few Indians, who have, for years, made it the scene of their occasional migrations, and communicated your instructions to their Cheif. Next day, Charles Glode waited on me, and to him was delivered an order as under, viz.
To John Jeremy 12 Bushels potatoes, 1 hoe, 1 spade.
" Francis Charles 12 do ------- 1 do. 1 do.
" Joe Peter ----- 12 do. ------- 1 do. 1 do.
" Abraham Peter - 12 do. ------- 1 do. 1 do.
" Francis Meuse -- 8 do. ------- ---- ----
" Jack Glode --- 8 do. ------- ---- ----
" Charles Glode -- 12 do. ------- ---- ----
---------- -------- --------
76 Bushels 4 hoes 4 spades
