JOURNAL
[Newspaper clipping]
STEAMER IMO FLOATED.
The Norwegian steamer Imo, which came here in the Belgian relief service and was on her way out from Bedford Basin that fatal day, Dec. 6th, when she and the French steamer Mont Blanc collided and the great explosion followed of the high explosives cargo of the French steamer, causing such loss of life and property damage in the City, was floated yesterday and is now at anchor in the harbor. It will be remembered that immediately following the explosion the Imo was driven ashore on the Dartmouth side, opposite the dry dock. It was felt she was not damaged beyond floating and she remained on shore until yesterday, when she was successfully pumped out and taken off. It is not known whether she will repair here or at New York.
