Provisions & ffort Major and therefore Desired that all Distinctions of Sitting and taking place might be laid aside; These Gentlemen being to Sitt on One Side of the Table, & you the present Members on the Other, and their Names in the Records to be Sett Down Accordingly

Which was fully Agreed to by John Adams Esq; And by William Skeen Esq Provided that it was absolutely Necessary for His Majestys Service and that he loosed no Other Right thereby than the Ceremony of Sitting till His Majestys Pleasure thereon be further known, Otherways that he would withdraw, and Desired that the Same Should be Recorded And Represented to His Majesty Accordingly

William Shirreff Esq Refusing to yeald or to Give [185] Give up any part of His Right & Prerogative either of Sitting or otherways till first Determined by His Majesty in these Gentlemens favour; Craved leave to withdraw till His Majestys Pleasure thereon Should be first further known

By Order of the aforesaid Authority Mett at the Honourable L.t Governor's House in His Majestys Garrison of Annapolis Royall on Saturday the 13th of May 1727 P: M:

His Honour Acquainted the first three Members of the the New Board that the Gentlemen, as he had Represented in the forenoon, were Come to be Admitted to the Board as Members of His Majestys Council, and that they were to Sitt and to have their Names Sett down in the Records as he also told them

the New members of the Council take the Oath. |

Then He Ordered the Oaths prescribed by Act of Parliament to be Administred to the Said New Admitted Members which they Accordingly took and [186] And Subscribed the Same
