     Taken into Consideration the aforsd Deputys behaviour in assembling the Inhabts to the day before the time & above two Miles from the place appointed & Resolved that Charles Landry Guillaume Bourgeois & Francis Richards for their Said Offence & likewise for Refusing the Oath of Fidelity to his Majesty which was duly tender'd to them be Remanded to prison laid in Irons & there Remain till His Maj tys pleasure Shall be known Concerning them [219] and that Abraham Bourg in consideration of His great age Shall have leave, to Retire out of this His Majtys province according to his desire & promise by the first oppo leaving His Effects behind him.

     Then Monsr Le Fondt being sent for, his Declaration under his hand containing Some matters of a Clandestine Trade being carried on by himself & Others from Mines & Checanectou in this province to Cape Breton by Conveying away Several head of Black Cattle against the Standing orders of the Governm’t, Read & having Sworn to the Same The Honble Livt Governor & Council in Consideration of his having Made a very Ingenuous Confession --- acknowledg'd his fault & promise of Submission for the future to the Orders of the Government Were pleased to forgive him
 
Mons.r LeFondt upon his submission is sett att Liberty


     Then His Honour Tender'd him the Oath of Fidelity to His Majesty which he took & afterwards Subscribed the Same.
 


     At a Council held at the place afors’d on Tuesday ye 26 of Septr 1727

     Present the Same Members as on the 17th Ins t [220] His Honour having Receiv'd Several Publick Letters &c by Cap’t How Just arrived was pleas'd to Communicate the Same to the Board which were Read in order as follows

     A Letter dated the 26 June from the Lords Commissioners of Trade advising him of ye death of His Majty King George & inclosing a Letter from the Rt Honble the Lords of the Privy Council thereupon
