The house on the right at the Five Corners is Second Empire style. Second Empire buildings, 1860-1890, include the following characteristics:
- wood, brick construction
- Two or three storeys. "L" shaped or rectangular
- all have mansard roofs, pierced with dormers, steeply pitched, covered in slate or shingles
- usually with centered doorway with tower, rectangular transoms and side lights, and bay windows one or two storeys high
