Notman Studio took a photo of Argyle Street, Halifax, circa 1890, showing the streetscape just slightly north of the O’Donnell photograph. City Hall is on the right.
The photograph shows wood-frame and brick buildings on the west side of this street. Moir Son & Co is the tall narrow building, corner of Argyle and Duke streets, with a horse-drawn delivery wagon out front. (The photo looks beyond Duke Street to the present site of Scotia Square.)
