view page 1 2 3 4 5

McAlpine’s City Directory 1889-90 could not be digitized due to tight binding and fragile condition. The "Street Directory" lists businesses and residents between George and Duke Streets.

Residents include a boarder, tailor, agent, sea captain, physician, coach driver, post-office clerk, milliner, shoemaker, dressmaker, and confectioner. There are two businesses: Moir Son & Co., of course, and James Knight’s restaurant/oyster bar.

McAlpine’s City Directory 1885-86 is similar to the 1889-90 directory; it includes an advertisement for Moir, Son & Co. as well as the alphabetical listing of Moir Son & Co., Bakers and Confectioners, 128 to 132 Argyle (pp. 222-223).

The Street Directory lists the businesses and residents between George and Duke Streets. Residents include physicians, an engineer, health inspector, painter, machinist, tailor, labourer, boarding house operator, printer, dressmaker, grocer, widows, confectioner, and Moir Son & Co. (p. 389).
