Nova Scotia was in the midst of the Depression when Clara Dennis travelled around the province photographing scenery, people and buildings. A number of her photographs are of derelict houses possibly due to rural out migration or to hard economic times. It is not known if these buildings were subsequently "demolished by neglect" or if the post-World War II improved economic climate saved them.
