Hamburg

"Barque Hamburg 1695 tons register of Windsor, NS. The largest Canadian three-masted barque. Designed and built by Ezra Churchill & Sons' Master shipwright John Fox Davidson (1829-97) at Churchill's shipyard, Hanstport, N.S. for E. Churchill & Sons and launched September 1886 being one of their lst vessels. She was commanded by Captain Andrew Caldwell. In 1907 she was sold to King Bros. of New York, who turned her into a gypsum barge to carry gypsum from Windsor to New York. She is now (1933) beached at Summerville near mouth of Avon River, N.S. Photographed while lying at Bristol, England, about 1905."
