Brigs and Barques: Images and Artworks from the Age of Sail

Log Book of the barque Innerwick

The Innerwick left Halifax 29 June 1873 heading to West Bay, Cumberland County. While lying at West Bay, she discharged her ballast and took on new cargo of hardwood and spruce deals, which were brought to her by various schooners. On 7 August, five new hands came on board and by 12 August she was ready to be towed to sea. 13 August: "Gannet Rock bearing north ... from which I take my departure." The 16-page digitized exerpt ends here. The log continues en route from West Bay to Penarth, Wales, logging the voyage on to Southampton and back to 16 May 1894.
