Captain George Spicer's last day on the Glooscap

On 19 July 1910 George Spicer wrote "Light breeze from the westward, finished the cargo at 2 p.m.; 3 p.m. boat and men came and moored the ship to Mariner's Harbour, Staten Island and after she was moored we put everything in shape, and locked the doors, and gave the keys to Mr. McDougal who gave me a receipt for the ship and all on board, I felt bad to leave the ship."
