Letter from the Commissioners of the Revenue to the Lieutenant -Governor with recommendations for appointing an Inspector and Searcher. They advise that the office be either given an adequate salary or be discontinued. They have appointed a clerk to the Commissioners of Impost and Excise in the meantime.

Petition of James Eager and other inhabitants of Annapolis County. "Whereas there has been a large Amount of money granted by the Legislature of this province for the purpose of making a road between Annapolis and Liverpool. A part of the Same having been laid out on the barrens and as we are informed by such persons as are good Judges that the money already laid out on the barrens is lost to the public – and as it is the Opinion of all that the road must be altered, and we are informed that the road may be altered and laid out where the land will be much better for a road and Cultivation – Therefore it is the prayer of your Petitioner, that your Excellency and your Honours will direct Some persons that are acquainted with the Situation of the business to Examine the land and lay out the road where it shall be most proper both for a road and land for cultivation, before there shall be any more money laid out on the barrens. Petition of Philip Roberts, Ordnance Storekeeper, asking an increase of his allowance for taking care of the powder belonging to the merchants of Halifax stored, for the safety of the town, in the army magazine. The amount of powder coming in each year has increased so much that the labour it involves is greater than that for the powder belonging to the military.
