Petition of the Grand Jury of the County of Halifax concerning the establishment of a Tread-mill at Bridewell, House of Correction, in order to 'be the means of defraying a great part of the expense but materially to lessen the progress of Crime within the province by exciting a dread in the minds of the convicts.'
