Morland to Blowers and Wilkins, reporting on answers to address. Ministers are quite alive to the importance of the objects pointed out in that address. "In the Foreign Department they indeed decline entering into any details of the proposed Negotiation, but say generally that your Interests will not be overlooked." On of the under-secretaries in colonial department is to have part in negotiating the treaty. He (Morland) thinks their wishes re: territorial boundary and fisheries will be acceded to, but conflicting interests may operate against attaining Nova Scotia's objects re: West Indian trade.
