29 February 1812
Petition of John Inglis and other inhabitants of Aylesford, pointing out the need that exists for a carriage road from the township to the Bay of Fundy shore, since settlements have begun to be made there, and the inhabitants of Aylesford have no other way of getting fish. Signed with 40 names. Undertaking that John Inglis will contribute £50 for every £100 granted by legislature, and see that each settler on the road will do £10 worth of labour.
