Memorial of George Wright, master of the Halifax Grammar School, describing the conditions upon which he accepted the position, and stating that up to this year he has received annually the full salaries provided by the law for establishing the school, but "That the said Salaries not being included in the Estimate and Appropriation Act of the present year, cannot, on that account, be paid quarterly in the usual course of the other Provincial Salaries, but must remain unpaid, until all the Services actually provided for in the Appropriation Act are first discharged; and the Salary established for the support of the Public School must depend for payment on the surplusage of the unappropriated Revenue, which will be a great hardship to your Memorialist." Therefore asks that school salaries be borne on the annual estimate. Signed.
