Petition of Hugh Ald of Stewiacke, stating that, on arriving lately from Scotland he had purchased a field with a salt spring in it in order to erect a salt works "for the supply of the adjacent Inhabitants." "Your Petitioner has at great Expences begun his salt works and made above Sixty Bushels; but it will still require much more Expences to Errect Buildings Sutable and finnish the Works; which Your Petitioner is unable to compleat he has been advised to apply to the Legislature for Assistance and Encouragement." He therefore asks for it. Signed. (See committee report, 21 Dec.)
