Petition of Benjamin Hicks and the Widows Ann Dodge and Sarah Leonard of Annapolis and Wilmot, that they have "subsisted upwards of Two Thousand Troops since the Law made and provided for that purpose, and a very Heavy loss having been sustained by them from the reduced allowance of Sixpence per Man for Breakfast and ninepence per Dinner, which in the aggregate amounts to Thirty Seven pound Ten shillings as nearly as can be estimated for each Innkeeper", the petitioners ask for present remuneration and provision against the future.
