Contract between Lewis DeMolitor and the collector of customs for the port of Halifax to supply provisions for black refugees
The naval prison on Melville Island served as the depot for the reception and temporary accommodation of the black refugees. This document lists in detail the supplies and rations which the contractor was required to issue to the refugees.
