Letter from Howe to Cruickshank of Napan advising that the bearer of the letter, Alex Thomas, lives near the school and if Cruickshank will teach Thomas' children, he will be reimbursed by the Indian Affairs Commissioner.

The bearer of this, Alex. Thomas, tells me that he lives within a few miles of your School and that he has two or three children fit to be educated. If you are disposed to instruct them and will make a class, I will pay for their schooling on your sending me their copy books and a Certificate of attendance from persons I know.
