If a convenient lot of 5 or 10 acres can be procured on the Shubenacadie within a mile of the Bridge at Parker's, it may become advisable to purchase it. Will you ascertain if such can be had, and at what rate.

I commenced the Indian land Survey to-day, but I find Goreham very differently disposed to what I expected. I have spent nearly half of to-day talking with him. He does not feel disposed to allow the block of 1100 acres to be divided if he can help it, as he claims the whole lot for himself. I reasoned the matter with him, and said, that I had instructions to expend £10 or £12 in repairing his house which appeared to please him much, but that I could not do anything with the House till he complied with your request, with respect to the division of the land; whether he will consent or not I do not know. but in the mean time I will survey round the 1100 acre lot, - and also survey round and divide

Reports that Gorham Paul is reluctant to break up the 1100 acre reserve into 100 acre lots. Will survey boundaries and 750 acre lot. See also RG 1 vol. 432 pp. 64-70.
