Dear Sir

I received your [illegible] authorizing ten pounds to be expended for the relief of the Indians. I accordingly drew an order in favour of the Revd John Shultz PP who has kindly under taken the disbursement. He called in one such now to state that there are about 21 families of Indians in extreme want of food and that at least twenty-pounds [illegible] are requisite. Will you do me the favour of handing this to His Excellency the Lieut Governor who will I feel assured at once order the necessary remittance. As I will be engaged, perhaps it would be as well to address Mr Shultz directly authorizing him to draw.
I remain Dr Sir
Yours
Martin J Wilkins
