Letter from William Chearnley to Uniacke regarding a visit from Webber regarding his trespass on Mi'kmaq lands at Ingram River.

on this occasion he found the River totally
damed across. I did not address Mr Webber
the Reason for my not doing so being simply
this "He had broken his word to me" Mr Hendry
however did speak to Mr Webber telling him
the state we had found the Dam in.
Mr Webber answered "that it would have
to remain in that state" in words to that effect.
I refer you to Mr Hendry if necessary to corroborate
this statement.
This Case requires consideration unless
it is now properly settled the trouble on the
C.I. Affairs will be endless.
Whatever is done insomuch must be
recorded on paper and Mr Webber found
not to annoy the Indians again.
I as C.I. Affairs will not be satisfied
with anything less. Feeling a certainty
that were the Case brought before a Public
Tribunal Mr Webber would be taught a
salutary lesson which would also have the effect
of warning others that are interfering
with the rights of the Aborigines
