Clare February the 16th 1831
Honorable Sir
Few days before I received the honor of your letter concerning theIndians I had read in the Newspaper of the [illegible] [ledged] in the Hands of His Excellency in their behalf, [In] consequence I had resolved to petition for a grant for the relief of those who are [round] about me, infirm, and old as well, or rather more in favor of young children of some poor destitute families, almost naked
[At] this [season] but few families are here, most of them are about Annapolis and Digby, some in Yarmouth & Argyle, the latter can easily report to me; I think the best way for those of Annapolis & Digby would be to send some
clothing
