he petitioned in January 1828 and again in October following,
habit being understood that his Lot was in the midst of the
[?coal] works the petition was ordered to stand over till
enquiry could be made, which produced the statement
and sketch of [?W. or Mr.] Richard Brown - Matthew Brian's
Lot does not interfere with the works - You will find
in this Packet a Petition from certain Administrations to
His Honor the President , which they conceived it was
necessary to pass through my office- I know [not -written above so insert here] if it
be of any consequence, that the persons styling themselves
[?Executors] in the petition for Land for the [infant?] [?Belworth]
have never qualified themselves for that office.-

I am much flattered by the friendly recollection
of our friend Sir Rupert- I imagine he would [?rather] write
than return to this side of the great ocean- I confess
I entertain the same fears that you express for Sir
Peregrine's health- I need not tell you this is
written in haste
