This sketch was published in The Graphic, 26 March 1870 to accompany an article discussing the vessel's "non-arrival". The vessel belonged to the Inman Line, sailed from Halifax 28 January bound for Liverpool, and was now missing for over fifty days, "a terribly long time for a first-class steam-vessel." Her passenger list included many important Halifax merchants who were making their annual voyage to England to select the next year's supplies of goods for their wholesale houses. The ship was never heard from again.
