Fort Clarence

Piers note: No. 275. Fort Clarence: General View, two Gun Pits. The left hand one is the one shown in No. 273. The large curved wooden forms to left, were used in forming walls of the pits. Fort Clarence: Completed Two Gun Pits or Emplacements for Moncrieff Guns, the left one being the one shown in No. 273 and No. 274; 1880 (?). To the right is seen a small section of Duke of Clarence's Tower, Martello Tower, and to left are some nine large curved wooden forms used in making the concrete walls of the pits. Looking Southeast towards mouth of South East Passage, from inside fort.
