York Redoubt

Piers note: No. 253. York Redoubt: Position Hill, of granite, 234 feet high, about 550 feet South-southwest of the South Caponier; with sodded top of Main Magazine, with ventilators, and top of Stockade, from left to middle of view; edge of what is no doubt Caponier Pond in left foreground; about 1880. Looking South-southeast from a point about 350 feet West of South Caponier. The present York Redoubt was enlarged so as to include Position Hill.
