Le butin de la guerre : les corsaires en Nouvelle-Écosse

After a Royal Navy prize had been confirmed a capture by the Vice Admiralty court and sold at auction, the proceeds would be distributed to the officers and crew of the capturing vessel. A share of the proceeds also went to the merchants who acted as ship’s agent.
