Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

Here is an American account of the capture of the Liverpool Packet. Light winds prevented the Nova Scotian vessel from escaping through flight. Such was American anger over their earlier losses to the Packet, that for months her captain languished in jail on a diet of bread and water.
