Letter from Bliss Carman to Minnie Prat, 6 October 1893 (print version)

"St. Kavin" was one of Carman's poetic characters. Carman signs himself "White Gull," in reference to his poem, "The White Gull," which was dedicated to "M.S.P." (Minnie Sophia Prat) and published in The Independent, 4 August 1892.
