is suitable for staves, their is also the appearance of Coal mines on [2d?] Island_It is claimed by 13 proprietors six of whom reside & are citizens of the United States & I suppose their shares are liable to Escheat.
The other proprietors are subjects & reside in this province, some of whom I have conversed with & they appear disposed to settle their shares on reasonable terms
7th As before observed the Timber is suitable for staves, & their is also plenty of Timber on the contiguous lands, suitable for the different articles mentioned in this quiry, & as Timber is yearly shipped off from this Port their is a constant demand for these articles here at a fair price.
8th The Harbour & shores abound with fish of almost every description, eels, trouts [illegible] may be caught tho the ice in the winter.
9th The price fluctuates according to the crops, but in general may be purchased at the rate of 1/6 p Buchell.
10th Huts of these dimensions, the Indians assisting, might be constructed for Five Pounds each
11th Three Pounds
12 All those articles articles can be procured here & also persons to instruct them in spinning & Knitting.
13th Numbers of them seem inclined to accede to this proposal, & the settlers would be willing to receive & instruct their children for a Triffle. I am inclined to think this would be a preferable mode of having them instructed in our arts.
14th The fishery in this vicinity is not carried on to any extent; neither do they appear much inclined to follow the sea - yet some might be inclined
